2019 Presidency: Confusion As Senate Moves To "Exclude" Buhari

The Senate Legislative Bill which tries to standardize banters amid races if went into law may likely serve as a bottleneck for President Muhammadu Buhari's 2019 re-race, having neglected to partake in the 2015 Presidential Debate. 

The bill which had scaled through second perusing on the floor of the Senate on Wednesday, October 12, makes it obligatory for each Presidential and Governorship Candidate to take an interest in a composed verbal confrontation before he can be qualified for race.

Obaseki, Oshiomhole in stun as Tribunal awards PDP request to assess constituent materials.

The Edo State race petitions tribunal in Benin has allowed a movement exparte to the Peoples Democratic Party and its applicant, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, to examine all materials utilized as a part of the lead of the September 28 governorship race in the state.

The three-man board of judges, drove by Justice A. T . Badamasi, allowed the PDP and its hopeful the movement to review the discretionary materials on Tuesday.

All Progressive Congress (APC) Chieftain Arrested For N36 Million Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has arrested a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Benjamin Apugo, at his village, Nkata Ibeku, in Abia State.

His arrest on Friday September 30, 2016 was sequel to a July 4, 2016 warrant issued to that effect by a Federal High Court in Umuahia presided over by Justice D.E. Osiagor after the accused failed to appear before the court to take his plea on a three-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretence brought against him by the EFCC.

Ahead of the Edo State gubernatorial election, the Nigerian Army announced yesterday in Benin City that it would deploy drones to monitor activities of hoodlums during the conduct of the election on September 28.
‎According to the Commander of 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army Brigadier-General Raji Benbela,‎ who spoke to journalists during the operation show of force by combined team of security agencies in the state, the use of drones was to ensure a credible free and fair election.

A landlord, Mr. David Agberemole, has sent at least 5 tenants in his house in Uzea Community in Esan North East LGA of Edo State, packing for supporting APC.

The tenants, Sylvester Chukwuemeka, Okosun Christiana and Ogbeide Elizabeth, who lamented their ordeal said they have suffered untold hardship from their landlord for not supporting the PDP which the landlord was sympathetic to.

Again!!! Another court order stops PDP from holding its National Convention tomorrow

Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja today gave an order stopping the Ahmed Makarfi-led PDP faction from holding its National Convention slated for tomorrow August 17th in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.
